What's Going on???

It seems something dug my sand and buried my small plate coral which is not doing well now. I don't have shrimp or and sand sifting fish. Any thoughts what it could be?

I have a sunrise Dottyback for years now and a Smiths Blenny but it never goes near the sand.

No, the rock is from my prior tank so new rock was not introduced to this setup. All i can assume is my large hermit crab or serpent starfish.
