New 420 gal Plus reef tank build in m y sunroom

Thanks Marko.... ,Dave at Vivid Aquarium did a nice sump. Been slow on the build....ordered in my parts for the canopy lift and been going around a bit on my design. Finally figured out what I wanted and my shop is starting that on Monday.....should have some pics soon. I did some on my basement room for the quarantine tanks today....slow, slow slow...LOL I need to slide the tank out to get my canopy lift wall mounted....once I get that done, I can go gangbusters on gluing up everything and fire this bad boy up....hopefully in Feb or March....

Is your tank up and running yet? Only asking because I wanted to know how you like the inline heater. I just ordered one. Have had no luck with my titanium heaters. They seem to last a couple weeks and then just stop working, very frustrating.

Hi Hans

Not yet. The canopy lift is almost done and going out to get powder coated. I have to move the tank away drom the wall to install the lift. I have Hockeynut (Rob) going to build the wood cabinet. I spent all weekend completing the basement room. I am hoping in February to fill up finally.
Let me know what you think of the inline heater. I like what I see and think it is the way to go. Good luck with it and let me know what you think of it!

It's coming in tomorrow. Going to plumb it in this weekend along with UV and chiller. Also at the same time I am really wishing a had a basement. Actually have been discussing with the wife about moving in the next couple years

Well with Holidays and vacations...progress slowed, but the basement room is done and plumbing all done. I also finalized all tank plumbing but not glued. I completed the canopy lift and need to remove tank from wall to test fit the lift. Then I can send it to powder coat. With luck 3 weeks may have the tank reset and ready to run some water thru it. Then I can get stand cabinet complete. Goal is for 1st week of March to be up and running.

Here is sump room pic update.

One more pic. The 3 additional 90 gal tanks in...with 2 frag tanks, one 20 gal fish quarantine tank in. One more quarantine tank yet to go in. This weekend going to run thru this setup make sure all is good. Everything automated for water changes and to fill up the 65 gal ATO next to main display. I have 19O plus the 65 gal for RODI or 180 gal for salt water....plus another 90 gal plumbed for the system if needed....making main setup up to 690 gal total....

100% all me,,,. almost......Of course I have a construction business and a racing team, so I designed it and had my crew chief and I fabricate it. Been fun doing it myself.

Thanks Guys....

Got lots of inspiration from the net and picking a few peoples brains from various sites. You Tube videos gave me lots of ideas and looking at my 90 gallon, thinking about what I did and did not like, gave me ideas to figure out what I needed to do. Building this beast is just like reefing....slow and steady...but I am getting impatient...want to see this filled!!! LOL
Hopefully by the time I plan on having a meeting here in October, it will be rolling along....
