I was using RedSea Coral Pro as well and got similar results with Boron, Silica, and Calcium. I have a ton of SPS so my Calcium is probably getting used more often. And I do 20% change every week. My silica is higher because of the play sand i guess. Not sure why my ALK was low though.

Anemone/SPS issue ... or non issue.

When fully open, my big one is about 7" across .. that one brushes up against my 30,000 leagues Lokani. One of my small ones is 4", fully open, that one touches a Tyree Undata. And my smallest one is about 3", fully open, and that one touches a blue tip "something or other" All the corals are...

I always thought this website was a bunch of college kids with Salifert test kits and basically robbing the Aquarium hobbiests but after I got the results i'm pretty sure it's legit. The kits come pretty quick and they are all prepaid as far as postage. And I suggest sending them out on a...

Slip or Thread Bulkheads what works??

I'm sure both work really well you just have to do the proper job. With Slip you need to glue it really well and with the threaded you should used the teflon tape or you can silicone them (I think i've heard of people doing that). I have slip on all three of my tanks. No leaks, knock on wood.

Yeah I used playsand from home depot in the begining of the tank but that was over a year and a half ago. Does the sand release silicate forever or does it run out eventually? Not sure how it works. I figure that it was originally from the sand but I didn't help it along by having the proper...

Anemone/SPS issue ... or non issue.

I have three redbubble tip anemones from Ralph's lineage. One of the nems walks around the tank touching SPS and other corals everyonce in a while. The thing is it's NOT killing my SPS. I know I should be happy about this but i'm a little confused (still happy, I guess) I came home from work...

Got my water tested. A little because I was curious how good my tests were (plus they test things that I don't), and a little because I hate testing myself. These are the results. Perameters My Reading Natural Seawater Acceptable Range Ammonia (NH3-4) - 0.009 Good 0.010 mg/L...

    Hello there.

Hey guys. I haven't been on the site in about 3 weeks. I've started a new job and i'm still getting acclimated to the new hours. Anywho, I'm gonna try and make it back on here more often. Taking a three week break was enough time for me to start going through withdrawl. I'm not sure i'll be...

There's a new store coming RIGHT NEAR YOU!

Not for nothing, but being close to another store isn't exactly a bad thing. It gives people a reason to travel to that location if they can hit two spots instead of just one. I would say that this kind of hobby the competition isn't so much about which stores are close as it is with which...

Just overdosed my tank with Kalk.

Thanks guys. Yeah so far everything is still alive except a blue linkia that I forgot was even in there because it sorta disappeared a while ago. The tank is still a bit cloudy looking still. I've done 1 water change and i'll do another tomorrow. Before the change tomorrow i'm going to go over...

Using iCalendar to setup Mantainence Schedule

Thought of something else. Calibrate PH probes - Once every month. No one has any other maintanence that they need to be reminded about or they'd forget??

Using iCalendar to setup Mantainence Schedule

haha. Actually I overdosed my tank with Kalk so I'm doing weekly water changes to stabalize the tank and then going to every two weeks as a routine schedule. Here's a picture of my computers. I use the Mac for Graphic Design, Music, Video, and work and I use the PC for internet. I need to...

Using iCalendar to setup Mantainence Schedule

Not sure how many people are familiar with iCalendar but I'm using it to setup my tank schedule. So far I have: Water Changes - Weekly until Nov. 17th then changes to bi-weekly Change Carbon - Every 3rd Monday of the month. (21 days or close enough to it) Change Phos - Every 3rd Monday of...

WOW!! Great pics. Hold some back for Photo of the Month Contest for sure. Thanks for sharing. Some of those shots, if not all of them, should be made into a Calendar.

Just overdosed my tank with Kalk.

Thanks for all the good luck wishes. Seems like everything is still ok. I might lose a sandsifting starfish (no biggie cause i was gonna get rid of him anyway) and a linkia star. Starfish are very sensitive to alk and ph swings (this is just what i read an hour ago anyway) All my fish are...
