It looks like you epoxied the clam into place, what was the reasoning for that? Most folks just let the clam attach themselves to the rock. Not sure of the epoxy will have an adverse effect of the clams foot or not.
36" bulbs are 39w and 48" bulbs are 54w. Plus the old bulbs should have the watts marked on them.

Not a problem. Your rocks are brewing away and should be ready to go in a few weeks. I threw a couple of my sponge filters in along with a bottle of bacteria starter in with it to get things jump started. I'll let that go for a few days then I'll stick a heater in and crank it up to really get...
Actually there are plenty of products out there that will instantly cycle a tank. Of course they are not cost effective for the average hobbiest but aquaculture facilities use them all the time.
Thanks, Al. It has been 2 years in the making and is still a work in progress. For an idea as to the size, the towers are 16"x16"x6' tall and weigh around 2,000 lbs each. The steel between them is a 4' long piece that came from TWC.
