Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Jim, try rinsing the mysis in some RO water before you feed it to the tank. Once it is thawed, put it in a net and rinse with RO water. All frozen foods are loaded with phosphates, it's a preservative.
Not needed but makes the hatch less of a mess and the brine are slightly more nutritious. I don't decap my own but buy them already decapped from SeahorseSource.
Not to mention that the decapped cysts are also a nice food source for your corals.
I was only in Lakewood long enough to get the generator then hightailed it back across he border into Toms River. Was there about 3:30 so still had plenty of sunlight left.
Check with Camping World, they have them for the same price. I picked one up from Lakewood store on Friday and they had over a pallet full of them left. Not sure of the store down off of 295 has them in stock but I'm sure they do.
I was out diving all weekend. Couldn't see past the end of your arm until you got down past 37ft. After that we had 30 ft vis all the way to the bottom. The bloom is only on the surface so don't let it discourage you from diving through it.
Don't you know there are orgers everywhere?
I remember you and that IMAC well. Good times were had by few. Now that you're so close we'll have to get together again.
I'd go with the 6x54 especially if you plan on doing SPS.
Not really sure why you would consider putting a 36" fixture over a 48" tank. You would lose 6" of light on each end of the tank.
Looks nice. I hope you placed a siphon break in the top section of loc line. If not, when you lose power the returns are going to back siphon all the water in the tank into the sump.
The bacteria that creates the cycle in our tanks does not live in the water column but rather in the rocks and substrate. Using any water will not prevent your tank from cycling.
