Was getting a bit big for my 39G. Felt the coral deserved a larger tank.
It's hardy as hell, though. Once they are in captivity for a while, they tend to last.
That does not look unhealthy at all. It actually looks like it's full like I was thinking it would be. I wouldn't worry yet. If you see actual tissue recession, than it's time to worry. Right now, this looks like an overly full elegance to me.
And that is definitely my old elegance. :)
Hah, definitely sounds like mine as mine had a FD growing out of it, also. Can you give a picture? I can tell you if it ever acted like that under my care before.
This elegance might have been my elegance that I traded Stan (got it from Jazzsam a while back -- it's well over a few years old in captivity).
The elegance will close if you feed it too much. They really don't need to be fed much more than a light broadcast feeding. They extend themselves when...
Spray painting can be quite spotty if done in a crappy way. I like the way the glass looks when it's rollered on. That way it's always a pretty even coat.
You ever go to Street Wars at E-town? It's domestic VS import. It's a pretty fun day, usually, albeit pretty long as well since a TON of imports always break (guys having big turbo kits with a lot of boost on a stock bottom end = FAIL) and have to be cleaned up.
Will fit fine in a TLF reactor.
The reactor is perfect for a 55G tank or smaller for Zeo. Any larger sized tank you'll either want two reactors or run it in a true Zeo reactor or even a canister filter.
I love Z06's, but you could get a C6 for cheaper and mod it up for cheaper and have it run faster than a stock Z06. A bit more work, but well worth it. C6's are running in the 11s stock with a simple tune right now.
Too bad I didn't see this! I like sunset beach a lot. Remember once down there some kid and his dad caught a few sting rays. Maybe skates? Not sure which is smaller (they were about 1.5-2 feet long). Caught them right off of the jetty.
Other hobbies for me:
Cars (Have a 2005 GTO that I race quite often)
Record collecting (Probably have over 1500 LPs and 7"s)
Hockey (played since I was a little tyke and I still watch every single Rangers game)
No, I didn't take it as you trying to stir something up. I was just providing another example. :)
I'm of the camp that thinks the general/average rule is only 2 weeks but that there are many, many exceptions (such as my work system for example).
I would say not only for a reef tank but for a freshwater system. In my experience working with the tanks at the job, we put a few huge carbon bags (I usually keep 2-3 depending on how many I can fit) under each 300G set-up. They are toast within about a week. These are bags rated for 200G...
Happened to me when I first fragged one a few years back, also. It was not a fun experience. That and touching a Carribian Carpet anemone were two of the worst. Both were worse, IMO, than getting stung by a Foxface at Petco before.
A bit OT, but I think that these would be great candidates to try in a Zeo based tank (a larger one), as you can feed to your heart's content with the zeo media and whatever else you wanted to feed and not have to worry about nutrient build-up.
Well, yeah. The normal amount of carbon people run in their systems is going to last two weeks. If I use 700 pounds of carbon, I might not have to change it for 8 months. There are always exceptions to the rules.
I think if you tried it with a red and green cap that it'd work fine. Most of the caps seem to grow pretty fast.
It's so coooooool. I want!
I think I'm going to try this soon.
