I always keep a 1500VA or more UPS system in my basement in case the power shuts off. I keep my most in important pump on the UPS. This also help ride the power outage.
Well in that case its sounds like I got a better chance getting a kangaroo burger at McDonalds then scooping up these buggers. I will turn one of power heads off to see if how that goes.

Yeah I had it happen, I now cover my overflow.

Keep in mind the rule of thumb is 10 x tank gallon size for pump for good flow rate. Keep in mind every twist and turn in the return will cut down the flow. For instance if if you have on the return pump a uv filter that can cut the flow rate by nearly half including the length of the return...
