As long as your running just rock (no sand) in your refuge I think that would be the better way to go. It will ensure that the water passes through the rock and not just over the top. Adding the extra baffles will help keep bubbles from getting into the return section also.
There is no way at all to put your skimmer on the drain side? What type of skimmer are you using?
I would put a full triple baffle bubble trap on the return side to keep any bubbles from getting into your return pump and back into the display tank. Also, you may want to put a double baffle on...
Based on the picture he posted I wouldn't spend that kind of money on them. The picture is so out of focus it's hard to tell exactly what color they are, but they seem to be pretty plain looking.
Like Phil said, it's possible it may just stay where it's at on the glass if it likes it there. I have used a credit card to gently remove my GBTA from the glass and then put it in a different spot.
Of course it never stayed where I wanted it to. I caught it a couple times with tentacles stuck...
I'd probably let it run it's course unless it's going to get hurt or hurt something else. It will probably move around over the next week or two anyway, until it finds a place it's comfortable.
Thank you Bill!!
Honestly, I'm really undecided. I want to do mainly SPS but I don't know exactly which ones. Same with which fish I want to add. I really don't know for sure what I want to add. I think I'm just going to take it slow.
I'd say it was about the size of a nickle round. It kind of lays flat against the rock, kind of like a flower without a stem.
If it is a flower/rock anenome is it something I should look to remove?
