    Clowns are amazing..

Blange--- I have seen your tank. It's beautiful! The frogspawn don't seem to mind them hosting. The one in my hubby's tank was huge and rapidly growing. It's about 15 heads now, started at four and I think I've fragged off 10-15 heads when it gets too big. The other two are 50 heads total - the...

    Clowns are amazing..

Phyl -- Yea- It's been a while. I've been lurking but not posting much. The tank is doing very well! I'll post a FTP along with the clowns when my lights come on. It's amazing the polyp extension I can get in a tank with no nitrates and no angels to nip at the corals!

    Clowns are amazing..

My husband's Red Sea Max housed a clown for two years along with her frogspawn that she hosted. When I put up my 180 I stocked it six months ago with a pair of clowns - they refused to host anything in the tank. I broke down my hubbys tank and couldn't find a home for his clown so I decided to...

    Best all-in-one

I have a Red Sea Max that is great. The company is fantastic to deal with. I traded out the stock skimmer for a Tunze as I didn't like the stock one. It'll be on the market in a few weeks as it's in my hubby's store which is closing down in January.

    Octopus Extreme Skimmer

Wendy, Just a quick question - maybe it will help PrettyBoy as well... I have the same skimmer and can't seem to get it to dial in. I have it in 8" of water (about 1/4 above the outflow pipe). It skims fantastically until the water evaporates throughout the day. By the time I get home at night...

    Tank drilling

Thanks. I'm all good to go. Had the tank drilled by someone from MR>

    Rock now or wait more.....

Actually, I have NO rock in the new tank at all. It's just lots of water, three powers heads, a skimmer and a bit of fish food from six weeks ago. The tank is almost done cycling and the rock is just sitting outside and fully cycled. Adding the rock won't induce another cycle, I'm sure of that...

    Rock now or wait more.....

My 180 is finally plumbed and tested and ready to go. The cycle is nearing an end (ammonia and nitrites 0, nitrates still high between 25 and 50). I cooked the rock from my 150 and it's all phosphate free, fully cycled and ready to go. Do you think I could add the rock into the 180 and let the...

    Tank drilling

Does anyone know anyone in Bergen County, Rockland or Westchester that drills tanks? I've tried the three glass places by me and none will do it. I need a 40 gallon tank drilled for a bulkhead....... Kathy

    New tank questions

Bill-- Don't mourn too much for the critters in my sandbed. They are alive and well in someone else's tank. I've also placed some of them in my hubby's tank so that I can visit them from time to time. :) And, now I get to plan new fishies! My first time through it took me 4 months to decide...

    New tank questions

Thanks for the suggestions..I found an RC thread that was waaay old that did a very good job of step-by-step directions on how to convert to a BB. My tank and stand are ordered. I've got the old tank and stand up for sale. Some of my rocks are cooking in the garage -- I'm ready to go! Just need...

    New tank questions

I've torn down my tank and placed everything in rubbermaid tubs and my spare tanks to get ready for a new floor in my living room this week. Now we're thinking - how about that new tank, it seems the right time to do it??? I can get a 180 delivered by Wednesday and new lights won'to take that...

I need new carpet, so I get a new tank?

The husband says I can look into getting a new tank! So, where's the best (cheapest) place to get a 180? I'll also be looking for a stand to go with it, no canopy as I think I want to go with a hanging light system so I can have an open, accessible tank.

Anyone been to the Baltimore Aquarium.

You should also look into the behind the scenes tours. If I recall they were very reasonably priced and we had a blast looking at the holding tanks, watching them feed the fish, etc.

    Protein Skimmer review

I had an ASM G2 on my tank and thought it was too small for the 150. I replaced with an Octopus which allowed me to go bigger for less $$$. I love both of them.

Desperate for ideas......My lights are out

So... I found a troubleshooting guide at the Icecap site - and following their instructions determined that my wiring was loose / incomplete / something... I took apart the two end caps that had issues and put them back together and all is now fine. Thanks! to everyone. Kat

Desperate for ideas......My lights are out

All of the connections look great. The lights have been in for about 17 months and this is the first time that I've really had to look at end caps, connections, etc. I'm actually very, very impressed - much better than the pieces of ##### that they replaced. I just found a troubleshooting...

Desperate for ideas......My lights are out

Brian == Thanks. I'll try that. I didn't do the original wiring so hopefully I can figure it out. I'm really bummed because the new light configuration is/was beautiful in my tank! The new bulbs are pretty much the same ones that I had before, I did change two but they are definitely the...
