I can't help with your lighting questions, i run t5 but i use tropic marin pro. i drip kalk all day and i supplement with b ionic two part. you have to test your levels and adjust accordingly. i believe kent manufactures a two part for nano tanks
I've used it. My fish go crazy for the stuff. I also see a small Alge bloom after feeding it for a few consecutive days. So I use it but not as my primary food.
I always wanted one of those. I saw them in a magazine somewhere but never though they were reef safe. Very nice pic. I've been thinking about getting a blue spot jaw fish. I know he will stick his head out of the sand like that. But it is a jumper. Keep me posted please on how yours does. I may...
After almost a year of waiting my clowns hosted my green bta. They have been in my tank for almost a year. I've had the bta's since I started the hobby two years ago. Yesterday they hosted the thing. They are grade b Picasso's and I thought they would never do it. I know some people know the...
I've gone up in temp a bit myself. Never want to bring it down to fast, as previously stated. The bag of ice and fans are both great ideas and seem to work pretty well. Just watch your evap when running a fan. How old is heater? What is temp in home or place where tank is located?
again i have to much invested in my system to take that chance. i know few people who do that as well as microwaveing it. it takes so little to cause so much damage to an established system. i have a tendency of over doing things.
I was always against adding live rock to am established system. i was always under the impression that you could possibly introduce unwanted pest into your system. i've always boiled my rock before adding it into my setup. i try not to take any chances.
I have no clue where mine came from either. But it is growing like crazy everywhere. I know it is calcium based and has the potential of taking calcium out of water. I also think it looks nice in some areas but it is starting to get out of control.
Hey everyone I am having a major outbreak of halimeda alge. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem. I am running a full reef, mostly sps and lps. I am trying to find something that will possibly eat it and won't harm myvcorals or fish. Any suggestions?
keep the bucket closed and away from moister and you should be fine. i use the tropic marine pro reef personally. it has higher mag levels as well as balanced alk and cal. i dont think you wasted your money. i know lots of people who use it and love it.
