Personally, my toby NEVER even cared about my star or any of my inverts. In fact, he'd pull up to my fire shrimp for a cleaning. It was a Valentini puffer.

The advice was to increase my alk from 8/9 to 12 dkh. I dont get it, but he said it is all he has ever done in order to battle HA. Be reminded I live in SOUTH Jersey there is one store down here. The advice may have come from that store...it's been around forever.

Has anyone ever heard of bumping your alkalinity to decrease HA growth? Personally, Ive never heard of it. Ive placed mine about 1/2 way up the rocks under 700w's of MH & T5. Is he OK there or lower? As far as pristine water...I am a nightmare. He should be fine then.
