I picked up a jig saw today, I think I'd still like a rectangular area cut out (keeping with the shape of the side of the canopy and all, plus then I could frame it with some small molding pieces) but my Dad gets in this weekend so we'll see what he thinks will work best, at this point I haven't...
Jon so sorry to hear you lost the toadstool, and extremely surprised. They have proven to be extremely hardly for me and I haven't heard of anyone else who got one having any issues other then growing to fast since they were far from being fresh frags (ie were fragged months and months ago). If...
I have no idea on the price but there is a small house basically next to me (you know how my house sits weird) but the family just moved out and there have been workmen there all week pulling out carpeting and drywalling etc.. I'm assuming they are totally redoing the inside of the house, there...
I wish I was, and thank you so much for the offer... but my Dad is coming in town just for the weekend from CA so I don't think I can make it. If that changes I'll be sure to drop you a PM :D
Thanks for the tip, assuming that's easier to find.. will it work as well or am I better off getting...
Thanks but I was actually getting this ready to sell to another reefer here, and realized it was leaking when I tested it.
The gel glue didn't work, was still getting seepage so I'm looking for something specifically made to seal this type of thing on the acrylic :)
Could I use something like...
Hopefully someone with some acrylic experience can help me out. I have a Remora skimmer and the seal around the gray tube that enters into the black main body of the skimmer is leaking drops of water out. What can I purchase (and where) to reseal this tube?
Thanks!
I actually got the nova pro so I don't even have moonlights, I have a couple of those link together little square ones I figured I'd use.. not sure on the powerbrites for moonlights, I think I read they are to bright... though given the angle I'd likely have to install at to fit in my canopy it...
I will try to get some photos this week but hopefully I can explain decently. My new fixture came and as I suspected it's a tight fit in the canopy.. VERY tight. No way I could run it this way as the fans are right up against the side. I assume I could drill a bunch of holes in the side for...
I was just looking at it as a supplement for my new t5's, knowing it's not going to add anything really to the actual light output figured it might give a slight boost to the colors and would be used for the shimmer effect others have mentioned, figured for $50 maybe it would be worth it?
I used a aqua c remora w/ surface skimming box on my 50g reef and was really happy with it, and exactly as posted once I upgraded to a RR tank it went into the garage since my new tank came with a sump and a in sump skimmer. Reminds me I need to dig it out and sell it LOL I think they are really...

Just wondering if anyone has tried these yet? I have a 70g Oceanic and switching my PC to a 36" current nova extreme pro T5HO soon, wondering if this would be a good extra for my wish list to add a bit more light/color? Would you think the actinic to...
Glad yours survived! I had one (died about 2 weeks ago, no apparent cause so I'm guessing old age) I had him for over 2 yrs and even when I bought him he was vastly bigger then the new one, great little fish though. I hope Bert #2 does well and is with us even longer since he's obviously...
Thanks for the info! I'm still on the fence with it, I saw a photo of it in someone's small tank and didn't love the look of it, though mixing it with some other sand might give me a look I like and still provide benefits. If I'm down that way at all I'll surely drop you a note :)
Mark: thanks for the info, so far it seems to be doing well... I can't get over how tiny this fish is! If you guys remember how small my yellow clown goby is, the green banded is about 1/2 its size. He seems fine in the mesh thing, I think I'll just do a gallon a day swap with my 70g to make...
I can try to get some photos later, the jawfish is normal sized.. what you'd expect to see in someone's tank. The green banded.. well it's TINY, they are normally a small fish but this one is the smallest fish I've ever had that wasn't a fry LOL If you're familiar with Hikari S pellets, which...
I'm setting up a tank for a yellow headed jawfish, looking at sand options and happened on this: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produ...fm?pcatid=19639 do you think this is a good idea, or a bad one... would the larger sized pieces lead to issues such as with crushed coral? I was thinking of...
Long story short, I attempted to add a yellow headed jawfish to my 70g a couple weeks ago. The other fish decided she wasn't welcomed and after chasing her into the overflow 2x and trying for a third I pulled her out. She's back in my qt awaiting for me to set up a biocube in the next week or...
I've heard of people using those plastic cutting boards, sorry I don't have details on it... I think there are places online that sell large ones or you put a couple to come up with the size you need etc. I've never used anything other then sand myself.
I'm setting up a 8g biocube soon and will be needing a few lbs of rock (pulling some from my sump etc but could probably use 3-5lbs more) prefer some interesting looking dry rock (such as Marco rocks) but would consider a nice looking piece or two of actual LR as long as it's algae free...
