Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Nope ... but like you said get rid of the crappy skimmer and get a good one. In my opinion you can put another fish in there since the wrasse is the only open swimmer.
Pick up is in Woodbridge Township/Colonia NewJersey. I live around the corner from Aquatic Obsessions. If you are going to PM, please post here as well so people know who was first. This is for members only for now and i'll move it over to the general "For Sale" Thread after the weekend. Thanks...
That was me....
I had three of them. One died right away. The other two lived for a little more than 3 months. They bury themselves in the sand and you don't see them at all.
When they die they will surface somehow and be wide open. I had mine in a 55 and the snails and crabs ate the first...

We're trying out a new themed contest to give the contest more of a push.

It's not just about the amount of flow in the tank. It's position and direction as well. I wouldn't remove the 3 pumps to get one.
If anything I would get rid of the one, and put another K3 in there. Two K3's and one K2 would be pretty good. Like Phyl said in another post the K1 (no matter what...
Be carefull with the "low" price of maxijets... they consume alot more energy than the more expensive pumps and will cost you alot more in the long run.
Maxijet 1200 use 29w
Korallias use about 12-16 depending on which
Tunze's run about 9w
and Vorteches run between 6-12w depending.
You can point one of the Tunze's at the surface... you need this, not only to break up gunk on the surface, but to have proper oxygen exchange. That ripple in the surface is what creates oxygen in the water for your fish to breathe.
K2's are really reliable. But they take up more space than the Tunze's. I've had both and the only thing i didn't like on the tunze was the way it attached to the magnet.
The Korallias were cool but they are too big and take up so much space in the tank. To some people this might not matter but...
Agree 100%. I have two tanks and 3 vortechs and I have a bucket of other pumps now. I used to have 7 various Koralias in my 120 and now 2 Vortechs(that take up way way less space) pushes more flow at random speeds and flow rates.
The best things I ever got for my tank.
I'm not sure it will split unless the second half has a foot hold on a piece of rock. Usually when my rics split it usually stays where it splits.
If you wanted to hurry the process you can cut it with a razor but you can't glue them down to a rock. You would have to place it on a disc or rock...
