I have a sand sifting (bullet) goby that has done a great job in cleaning my tank, but also takes great pride in covering any coral placed on the bottom with sand.
I want to get him out of the tank and find him a home. Hence the problem, he is SO FAST and so skittish that as soon as something...
I won this Red Lobo at the last meeting. When I first put it in the tank, it was solid red, now over the last week, it has been turning green around the edges. I thought maybe it wasn't getting enough light on the bottom so I moved it up, but that doesn't seem to be making a difference. All the...
Currently I have an AQUAC EV-180 skimmer that I am quite happy with. I have a 90 gallon display and a 40 Gallons Sump, so looking at 130 gallons of water.
My EV-180 has got a crack in it, so thats an excuse to either replace or upgrade.
Though some have problems with AQUAC skimmers, they have...
I have a CURRENT USA ORBIT PC with 4 x 96 watt bulbs. I am quite happy with the unit as far as how much light vs heat/power for use over a 90 gallonn tank.
It uses square pin 96 watt bulbs and when I bought it, the stock bulbs are 2 dual daylight 6700/10000 and 2 dual 420/460 actinic.
The...
I have a pretty large area in my sump with lots of live rock rubble. I was going to add some cheato and setup reverse lighting in it.
Anyone have suggestions on best way.
Someone on RC mentioned they make a PC type bulb that looks like a flood light that is 6700K, but I haven't seen it.
OK, all you DIY'ers....
What is the best way to keep flexible tubing (1/2 or 3/4") that hangs over into a sump from moving. What do you use to secure it to the top lip of the sump, so pressure doesn't move it or want to make it act like a water whip.
OK, all you sump experts, I need you suggestion on the actualy procedure to glue the baffles.
I figured out that it makes sense to put the baffle that is 1 " off the bottom in first (middle baffles) as I can silicone both sides without the end pieces.
But then I get to the ones on either side...
I am going to try to do my own plumping this time for the project of moving the sump to the basement using an external pump.
What is the best adapter/reducer/combo to go from the pump (Gen-X MAK4) which is 3/4" M to 1 1/2 PVC. Is there such a thing as a female 3/4" to 1 1/2 slip connector?
Has anyone heard of this before.
I got a bunch of snails and crabs from Liveaquaria.com (I like them alot, great service). Attached to one of the very large red leg crabs is what I belive to be a feather duster.
Is that possible?
I will try to get a picture of it, but the crab moves around alot.
We all know that your tanks are not a hobby, they are an addiction. We really should start every meeting with "Hi my name is Phil and it has been 17 days since I bought something for my tank.......
Well, them most people that have one big hobby also have others..... so what is your OTHER...
Resurfacing the hard wood floors in our old 1920 dutch colonial house gave me the perfect excuse to start over with a blank slate. After the floors were done and I put up some floor jacks in the basement for support some extra weight, I am starting my 90 RR up from scratch. It was a FOWLR, but...
Hey Guys, Soon to be a member of the group (at March meeting)...
I am creating a new sump for my 110 Reef tank and moving it to the basement. (My current sump is under the stand and I am getting to old to bend over and work in tight places - *I hear the snickering*)
I have a 40 gallon breeder...
