Try not to mix Leathers with Stony Corals in that size tank. They will compete in chemical warefare and it might lead to a mess... Leathers with Mushrooms and Zoas will work. or Stonies (LPS, SPS) with Mushrooms and Zoas will work. One or the other.

Gramma's and Psudochromis tend to hide in the caves. The will come out to feed, and in the case of most Psudo's they will defend their hole. I believe Grammas will hide upside down in the cave. If you want an open water swimmer in that size tank I'd look at some of the Clowns. You can get nice...

    Which is a better tank?

The Tech Tanks and the Ultimate series both have Starphire front panels. I don't know if I'd do another open top tank. I had to put a screen on top of it to keep my fish from jumping.

Look at Reef Central in the Do it yourself forum. All you really need is a old fishtank (a 10 gallon would fit in your stand), or a rubbermaid container with a clip-on light. You could do dividers or baffles in it.

I don't feed my star, but I do have a 30 gallon fuge on my tank. I second the fuge suggestion. I would not do a tank without one.

I disagree with the above statement about the star. I have about 12 LBS of sand in a 70 gallon tank (Just enough to leave bare spots of glass in some spots. At most a dusting in others). I got my Sand Sifting Sea Star when my tank was 1 month old. He's doing just fine...

Beware of Aquatic Hobby Aquarium Supply Online store.

Dave K- Get to know the guys at the LFS, and buy from them over 10 years, and they will order anything you want. Mine went so far as to match the internet's prices.

Beware of Aquatic Hobby Aquarium Supply Online store.

Alot of companies charge a restocking fee. It's common in computers and electronics. Buyer beware. I got burnt by one of the better vendors and companies online in what I believed was a defective part. Now both the company and vendor do not return my calls. This is why I'd rather deal with...

    Protein Skimmer question

Yep. One of the reasons I chose Tunze this time around is because of their customer service. I have 6101 on a single controller as well and I love it. The Tunze 9010 is not built as big or solid as the Euro Reef (it's all thin plastic), but it's been skimming from day 1 with no flooding. Also...
