What am I doing wrong? Help Needed!

I guess with LED lighting you can rule out "old bulb" syndrome. :D What kind of sand base is under your rocks? Did you do any significant re-landscaping that might have substantially disturbed it? I pulled out a large rock once that disturbed my base and it must have released some sulfor...

absolutely fish midnight madness Aug 22 9:00

Considering how hard it can be to get someone to wait on you there on a regular day, it's probably going to be like a bread line in Russia tonight.

Flex pvc or sch 40 or spa flex?

You know, I keep thinking about dragging out my old college Fluid Dynamics book for review....the only problem with that is I'd have to pull out and review the old Calculus book first. Remember when you actually had the time to study things like this? Actually, the problem is I DONT remember. :-\

    What is this???

There's one sure way to tell. Leave it alone. If you have 50 more them next month,...it's a majano. ;D It doesn't quite have the Majano "look" I would expect. You know, that glowing green aura of unrepentant evil. The tentacles on this are a little understated, compared to other photo's I've...

fish store in Hill side NJ

Shark Aquarium is a FANTASTIC store for freshwater fish and cichlids. For salt water...not so much. They have a very small salt water section. But, if you're in Hillside, you're not so far from The Pet Shanty, just up Rt 22 over in Scotch Plains. I've heard very good things about them.

What to do with tank when selling house

From your experience, it sounds like if you're going to sell your house, it would be less of a headache just to take down the tank and make the repairs to begin with. There are plenty of haggles involved in a home sale without the added complication of a reef tank. Sure, in a perfect world...

Candy in water -- is it bad?

I'm wondering if this was a prank with some food coloring. It would seem like it would take a LOT of candy to significantly affect the water color. More than one little kids lollipop.

WHAT IS IT!!?? How do I get rid of it? <HELP>

Whew!!! :) Unfortunately, it does sound like the only answer for this stuff is to pull out the rock and put it in a dark place for a while. I did see one guy say his Naso tang ate it, but that kind of thing is hit or miss.

    upgrading...

Re: upgrading... HELP Minicycle. The beneficial bacteria that lives in your sand doesn't like oxygen. Just the process of moving sand from one tank to another will result in some bacteria die off. You can also get some release of Hydrogen Sulfide into the water from dead spots that exist under...

That "field" of Ricordia was one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. Just changed everything I was planning in my 72. I want a Ricordia field.

    Tank weight?

They don't list the 120, but 125 is pretty darn close. http://freshaquarium.about.com/cs/tipsandtables/l/bltanksize.htm If there's going to be a sump under it, don't forget to add the weight of that too.

    LED Lighting

I know a lot of us are watching the progression of LED lighting into the hobby very closely and with great interest. (I know this, because every time you see a thread posted on a forum that has any real detail, the guy immediately gets mobbed with requests for info) :D I'm doing a lot of...

You could try an online order at this place. I didn't go too far down the order process road, but it wasn't asking for a prescription number or Doctors name http://www.petscriptsforcheap.com/index.php?p=page&page_id=about_us
