Looks like the light he is using is the wrong temp to grow coraline. I use the same fixture and a 6500k compact fluorescent house bulb, coraline doesnt grow for me either.
Those are junk, not made for and not even close to a real reef LED light. They have been discussed many times on other sites. One that comes to mind is nano reefers lighting forums.
The newer LED reef lights will make your corals color pop even more than a T5.
I got one, for me it ran perfect for 5 months so far, yes it is very quiet. I found it to be a great pump, so much so I am in the process of down grading tanks. On the new tank I also went with a Quiet one, a 1200 this time, same deal quiet, no trouble and seems to flow what it claims.
He said something to me that made me almost fall down laughing, He was speaking about his big L shaped tank and talking about his new and improved larger one you guys meantioned he is about to build.
If I made this tank the american way the glass would be 1 1/2" thick, it can hold up a house...
Yes this is right, I do not think anyone touced on why tho.
Add not enough water fast enough and it will precipitate its calcium and now your have water that is cloudy\milky and EDITED up that will not disolve over time. In fact you will have instant white film on everything in your mixing...
check for play in the bushings and the shaft on the impellar, thats what it sounds like happend. Clueless? a good local fish store should check it for you and let you know if its just the impeller.
Thanks everyone I will try everything mentioned till it sells I guess. I am moving to a new place and its gona be either second or third floor for my tanks so the big tanks have to go, switching to smaller ones..
I bought this one for now along with a 160watt Maxspect LED fixture...
Hi all, I need to get rid of a big reef tank, was wondering if anyone has some advice on where to sell it since big tanks are usually a local thing I tried on a New york site and it seemed there was a lot of interest but no one wanted to make the trip. I have a feeling the logistics of picking...
once a territory has been establised (the whole tank unless its really a big tank) the chase and beating spoke of early is pretty much gona happen, it will most likly end in a slow death too.
I would take the establish ones out and leave them in a seperate tank for a few days then try and...
Parameters are perfect, tank is old and long cycled. These are some kind of organisms they can swim in all directions. A camera could never capture this they are just to small.
I am really starting to lean on the fact I bought a large anemone a week or two prior to this happening that had...
Hi all,
Have some kind of bacteria or parasite bloom it looks like, clouded the water. A few fish have died.
If I look really closly I can see billions of micro hair like worms (1-2mm long) swimming in large balls.
any ideas?
See if you can bend or ad a reflector that will keep direct light from going right at the glass. I did this, only the bottom 2 inchs of the glass in my tank gets algae if I wasnt lazy I could tune it better and knock out the two inches too.
Also dont forget there are different species of Dendros. Some do stay closed more than other during the day. From what I have seen the true fat heads I have stay open almost all the time..
This link has alot of types maybe you can ID yours.
