id still like to use my dart pump because i dont think it gets quiter than that and I love sequence pumps, but is it ok to throttle it back down that much?
I didnt hook up my dart to the closed loop yet, do you think I can just put the dart for my returns and feed the 2 overflow returns and my phos reactor when I get it? Then either go with another dart or maybe a hammerhead for my closed loop spray bars?
are most of these pumps feeding other things than the overflow returns? My 180 is only rated for 600gph flow for each overflow so that would be 1200 gph so maybe a 1800-2000gph pump I would think... Im having a hard time keeping up with the 1780gph pump I have not, its throttled back about 1/4...
Just wondering what people are using for the overflow return pumps. I see a lot use in sump mag drives, havent seen many people using external pumps or maybe Im just missing it. Let me know what youre running, size/gph/etc...
what would you say to do for the time being then? Im assuming having high flow makes the venturi create bubbles right? because Im barely getting any bubbles inside the chamer with the mag 7
yeah I went with the 3x150 and t5s... i figured it was a great price and with all the other stuff I needed like rock, pumps etc... it would be good to save the 5-600 bux... i know im going to end up changing them down the road when I get more knowledgeable about reefs but what are you gonna do....
I know, I told my LFS that it required a bigger skimmer, but he said try this one and see what happens. Im going to bring that mag pump back and either going to put some matting underneath the sump and see if that helps with the pump or just get a bigger pump. Even running the pumps seperately...
I dont know if it is my the pump or what, but I finally got some stuff in my tank up and running today. I have a mag 7 powering my mr-2 skimmer and a coral-life turbo sea 1700 for my main pump (powers the overflow returns and will power a calc/phos reactor) and let me say holy crap is something...
Ive been searching all day about plumbing my sump up and not really had much luck. I have an oceanic 3 sump. It has two 1" outlets on one side, it came with a piece of glass that sits on top that has two 1" bulkheads in it and it has 1 baffle with a piece of foam on it that is about 10-12" away...
I think I am deffinately going with halides but now its just a matter of going between 150watt and 250.... heat is the big issue, but at the same time I want to do the tank right
what would be required to make a 150 into a 250? I found a used one on ebay close to me, but it probably needs new bulbs. The guy said make him an offer, so can someone PM me what they would offer him>?
I have built a nice spray bar setup on the bottom of my 180, I went with 3/4" pipe all inside the tank. My question is what size holes should I be drilling in the spray bars and how many. I want to say I read somewhere that the holes should be spaced 1" apart, just dont remember the hole...
