Thanks mynd..I know Will quite well and am in the shop about every other day. Am surprised I didn't see them.
As for feeding, cyclopeze is a good choice (I use frozen) as are rotifers, either the frozen type by Hikari or the bottled one by Reef Nutrition. In the case of the cyclopeze and Hikari...
Candi..I too have seen and heard mixed stories about CBS. My experience over the years has been positive with regard to their compatibility with fish. Never saw one attack a fish. Your particular fishes will be OK.
I have one CBS in my 135 reef and it has grown quite large and has gotten along...
Hi Mookie...the main advantage of an overflow box is that since its serrated top is below the tank waterline, it actually skims the surface water of the tank preventing any surface slime from builing up. The disadvantage is that it takes up room inside the tank.
On my 135 Reef tank I have 2...
Hi Mynd..Nice fish and photo..Can I ask where you bought it and if you noticed whether there were any more?? I've been looking for one for a while now.
Thanks,
Dom
Herb...Do not silicone...Instead, follow Matt's advice and place the gasket on the flange side. To help ensure a solid seal make sure the gasket and flange are clean, then apply a (very) little Vaseline to the gasket and hand tighten the nut. Has always workeed for me.
Hope this helps.

Good point about option to run actinics separately and that when actinics are run with 6700's, the overall look is pleasing.
Nice to have proven choices, Nick. Good Luck!!

Nick...The 50/50 bulbs I suggested will more than do the job in your tank for Softies and LPS's so if you don't plan to add SPS's anytime soon, go with that Actinic 03/10000k combo bulb. The 6700k bulb suggested by IrradiateReef is a tried and true color temp used successfully
in reefkeeping for...
Sam... I have the same problem, ie. pH between 7.9 and 8.0...Wasn't a problem when my alk/calcium numbers were in line and in the case of the latter a little high. But now I need to monitor and occasionally boost alkalinity. While coral growth is OK, it is notably less than a number of other...
Nick...Two 65w Actinic/10000k bulbs will certainly do the job with the softies and most LPS's you might add to a 20 long. They will likely do the job with SPS's particularly if they were placed in the upper middle to upper part of the reef. As with any size reef with a mixture of corals like you...
Tank looks good Eric..Nice job posting the photos (I still can't do it).. I plan to set up a 6gal nano as soon as time permits..I already have the hardware in place.

Hi James
Your fish buying days are not over...Captive bred fish are generally stocked at the larger (and often more expensive) retailers. While it is true that most will stock the more popular and relatively less expensive species such as clowns, they do stock several of the others such as the...
Hi Carlo..The target numbers are spot on. With any consistent program of frequent and/or larger (say 10%+) water changes, the major parameters of the water in terms of reefkeeping should be easily maintained with this mix over the long term. Only poor husbandry habits such as overfeeding...
Interesting Applications!! Given today's problems re cancer and oil shortages, problems in the Middle East, global warming etc.,
this is worth exploring. After all, 120 years ago who could have predicted that explosions of air/gasoline in a tiny space coild be safely controlled to power cars...
Hi All..I visited Atlantis as part of a Long Island Reef Club seminar/show back in early March and had a great time. The giant Coral Reef is spectacular. But that wasn't all. The specialty exhibits were well done and informative.
The current President of the Long Island Reef Association, Joe...
