Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
I'm going to pick one of these up soon. To get this straight, to dial back the flow, all I need is this $10 item on FS: http://www.fish-street.com/12v_to_24v_power_supply_for_jebao_wp-60_wp-40_wp-25_replacement_pump right?
And for my 36" 65 gallon, would it be better to get a 25 or a 40 that...
From what I've read, they're VERY similar hardware wise. I just don't understand the need to package the kinect device, which I wouldn't need nor want with an Xbox and it's $100 more. Either way, I'm waiting for the price to drop in a while before I get a PS4.
I have plenty of fun being a...
Oh man, stand and tank wrapped together? Yikes. Definitely gonna need those dollies. I hope you don't have to move over any carpet, lol. Make sure to pick up some moving blankets for extra cushioning and to help with sliding it off the truck.
Would you then be epoxying that into the holes with some of it still exposed at the bottom to keep the rocks elevated. I'm just trying to create a platform for the rocks to sit on. This way none of the rock is covered by sand.
Excuse me if I seem oblivious...it's because I probably am.
If prices are close(within 5%) or equal, I'd go with an LFS just to support them. The online retailers don't need the help and an LFS will be there in an emergency. Marine Depot or BRS isn't gonna be able to help you if you're tank springs a leak or your RO/DI falls off the wall and breaks.
I just decided for lifting the rocks off the substrate I'll take the section of 1" PVC I got laying around and borrow a friend's drill to drill some holes in it, cut them to ~2-2.5". I figure that seems like the easiest way to go.
I meant to repaint the interior of my stand earlier, but I'm...
I would imagine it's the same if the coral was 1" from the light, but I would think having it at 30% it might not penetrate the water well enough to provide the same amount of usable light to corals at different depths.
All I see is the ball valves too. Amazon has this other site called Amazon Supply where they sell more commercially geared stuff. There's TONS of PVC fittings and whatnot on there. Might be worth a look. I had no idea the site existed until I needed a weird threaded-barb adapter and that was the...
A magnet may mess with the iPhone's compass, which is what tells you where to turn when you use turn by turn directions. Not a huge issue, but something to keep in mind before you leave it on the phone and make a left turn into a lake.
There was one just like that in the Hammacher Schlemmer...
You'll get dinged for the fee twice if you get paid via paypal, but it's not that bad. I dunno what's changed on ebay in the time since I've used it, but you can try to recoup the fees via jacking up the shipping price. That used to be a tried and true method on ebay, but they may have tried to...
Possible, but also keep in mind retailers keep getting more in and release them on certain dates.
I'd pay attention to the circulars, probably best to try to plan for auction to end on a Friday or Saturday, since they put that they'll have consoles in the circulars that take effect on Sundays...
Is there anything really unique about the limited edition or is it just that you get like a special controller or something? If it's not really anything you couldn't put together later, I'd dump the limited edition, put it on ebay, maybe you can get someone willing to spend extra $$$$ on the...
Looking for a skimmer and lights. Probably looking to go middle of the road to upper middle when it comes to brand/pricing.
So for the lights, I probably can't afford any ATI fixtures, but something like a Current or Tek fixture would be more in my price range. Same goes for LEDs, can't afford...
Also, if you guys really want selection, there's Mitsuwa in Edgewater. It's a real pain to get in and out of, but they have an entire aisle of Nori/seaweed.
Not sure if I'm missing something, but from what I understand about Nori, it's all toasted/roasted. Maybe "drying" takes place at a lower temp, but I'd think it's all the same either way. So long as it's unseasoned, I'd think it's all the same.
Maybe I just lack vision, but how do you use plastic clothes hangers to lift the rock off the sand?
And let me add, I don't own a drill....or pretty much any power tools.
So, I'm probably going to cement all my rocks together tonight. I guess for the next step, my question is:
Did anyone raise their rocks so they'd stay above the substrate? How did you do it? PVC? Acrylic Rods? I'd like to do this as cheaply as possible, if you have figured it out, this will be...
