I will be curing the rock i took out of the 120. Its just been sitting in buckets, no water. Can i expect this same problem. Never cured dry rock before.

An alk reading of .08 on either scale is low. Do you mean 8 The NO3 is high but sounds like most of what you have can take a higher nitrate level. I've seen zoos and shrooms with nitrates at 80 doing just fine. curious though why it climbed so high. The case i'm talking about had a high bioload...

Thanks Phyl. With some plumbing work i can run the RO off the well for the Greenhouses. Sounds like it may be a few weeks before i get set up. Terry wants me to replace the flooring in the kitchen before i set the tank up again. Guess i'll be shopping tomorrow for flooring and hope to install...

I never liked that method either. For Ph they have meters and refractometers for salt. Good question but to be honest once thing are up and running i didn't do a lot of testing unless i had a problem.

i used to by black flexable PVC when i was installing ponds. I never saw the ridged in black.

Like what kind of stuff getting in. Mine were in the basement so there were no animals and i never fell in not in once. Seriously i had a piece of plexiglass on them during the winter just to help hold the heat but kept them uncover during the summer for cooling. i guess some dust or something...

Can't take not haveing my reef tank anymore. Thinking about starting up the 120 gal again. Miss it bad. Have most of the equipment but most of my rock went to the club. Will likly go bare bottom :D this time or maybe just enough sand to cover it. Any suggestions from the group, current trends...

I didn't think of the fuse, it was blown, had to buy one today. As soon as i turned it back on it blew the fuse again

i think lightning hit my icecap 660 ballast. can't get it to turn on. Was hoping someone has a spare or at least one i could use to test to be sure it is the ballast before i buy another will need to do something soon
