mark , it sounds like you need an in sump skimmer .try posting in the trade or sale forum and then upgrade with the extra $$$
also with increased water changes you could do with out the skimmer for a while until you get the in sump... hope it helped.....happy reefing ......al
i have run a sucessful 20 gal mixed reef for a few years with and without a heater or chiller. i have also survived and rebounded from both a cold related crash and a heater malfunction related crash.
imo your temp of 80* is as perfect as you can get.the higher you run it over that the more you...
i 2nd that :D
ps:what are your water parameters (trates,ph,temp,alk,cal,mag,phosphates,etc...) if your not using ro/di i would watch out for high phosphates and they would kill off any SpS corals ,even the hardy ones
happy reefing.......al
francis,
sorry to hear about the losses . i feel your pain.
hang in there ,you never know what some corals can recover from and with a little love/luck those halfs will rebound and be as good as new in a few months
if there is anything i can do, just let me know
i hope it all turns out...
i wouldnt say you are waisting your lighting but with that lighting i would say you could keep anything you wanted as long as it in the right location in the tank .
what are your water parameters? if your not using ro/di , and the water quality is lacking i would hold off on the SPS corals...
