Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
I vote for tossing it out hate the damm things. Iv seen takes overrun by them so you will never run out. If you get the bristles in your finger, spread some Elmers glue on the spot and peal off when dry to remove then, will still take month or better for the itching to stop, they have a mild...
Agree large water changes and carbon and turn up the skimmer and wet skim.
Take a sample of water and check parameters before you do the latter.
Could have been a containment got into the tank, like from the glue and these steps are standard, but, do rule out other causes. Ammonia readings may...
My Alk has always been a bit high, any common reason that would cause that I should be looking at? All other params are good. Alk. 3.89meq at Cal 420 ppm, should be around 3.45 meq.
No Feed. trops rock is cycled and sounds like the other rock was too. Give it a few weeks yet. And take out those stars, general not desirable hitchhikers.
Same thing, any of these that we may have in our tanks or in the trade as general.
Also a short Description including a common name would help. Again anything on this list be a bit careful with, I will elaborate later.
Thanks Again

Had to load this as a Pic, older reference maternal.
Doing a bit of research on toxins and could use a bit of help.
Any info on these Zoo-Palys including pics and how common in the trade would be helpful. Just as a hint, If you have these in your tank use caution with them.
PM works so I do not tie up this forum.
Thanks GregH

Hope that helps!
I use a window AC, keep the room so cool I wear a winter shirt. Keep the lights off during hight temp days. You can put tank water in the freezer and add it back in to cool a spike, buts thats not a long term solution.
Using regular Super glue Jel One trick is to let the frags heal 3-5 days then attach
Them I did the Toothy Pick it was on a Yellow Fiji Leather, tough one to frag.
Mike Yes, Been researching Already, Amazing some of the nasty s we have in our tanks.
I have been in touch with multiple persons on RC that had the same thing, 2 month + healing time. Dermatitis Burn, Allergic Reaction and Secondary Infection. The information is scattered and mostly done for...
Water changes and perhaps Wet Skim and Cheato in the Sump. Nitrates will take time to lower. Keep looking for the source. Any body MIA in the tank? Overfeeding? Having the water tested by somebody else is a good idea, just to be sure.
Sound like there was a few shortcuts in setting up the tank.
The reef systems in basic form is a balanced system that takes time. Proper lights, Live Rock, RO Water, Water Flow, Sump, Cheato, Skimmer all work together. For clean up crews Snails, Hermits, Emerald crabs all contribute to a clean...
