I have two fixtures one by current and one by Hamilton Reefstar. Some HQI bulbs don't have the propper slot ends to fit in current's fixtures. The reefstar pendant only fits these bulbs. The Currents fit these.. See the different ends.... how can you tell which company makes which bulb?

I think that's a great idea, to run the lower wattage light in the summer. Not alot of people have that option so if you do then that's definitely the way to go. I almost wish I had another light fixture now.

They look alot like MTC's skimmers but with bioballs inside....

It's worth the trip just to see the displays. I can't afford to shop there though. Can't blame the guy though cause he's in a prime area with a great big store, four displays and a decent amount of employees. Still worth the trip just to see the two giant tanks.

I have the same one Mike has but made by MRC instead of MTC. I think MRC copies MTC ( MTC has been around longer) cause they look exactly the same. You don't have to have a KALK, CA, or CD. A calcium reactor slowly adds Calcium to the tank but it needs CO2 to "melt" the Calcium Media. CO2...

Dave, sorry to hear it. I lost alot of Acros to when I moved them to my holding tank to treat for redbugs. It wasn't a heater but for some reason my corals where RTNing and STNing like crazy. I lost about half a 5gallon bucket in Acros. Hope it doesn't keep you down. -mike.
