yeah, i highly reconmend this piece of equipment. heaters have been know to fail to shut off sometimes, and you could loose your whole tank over a 40 piece of equipment. the ranco will turn the heater at certain temp and turn off when the temp rises to the desired level. if you have a dual...
only have purple on my glass & rock, but some of my snails have hot pink to dark maroon on their shells, i dont get it either. i never heard of any method to growing specific colors. i am guessing the color of the coraline correlates to the kelvin rating of your bulbs, then again maybe not. some...
after re-reading this thread i realized i should really read all the posts before sticking my 2 cents in. anyway, how does the reefgadget attach to the mag float?
def would not add another tang. really wish i didnt add a purple tang to my 180g. if i could get him out i would. very aggressive towards my yellow tang. both are large fish, but the purple is jet very territorial.
how about a couple of anthias? i have bartletts, very good tankmates.

Right now I have 2 Bartlett Anthias in my 180g DT, along with 2 True Percs, 3 Tangs, 1 Scooter Blenny, & 1 Purple Psuedo. I am considering adding 5 Lyretail Anthias, any advice or suggestions for or against adding these guys?
easier said then done with an in-wall 180g. hard to reach the bottom of the front glass from behind the tank on a ladder. not to mention that you really cant see the coraline from the back (even with all powerheards & pumps off- no circulation). i have to have my wife direct me where to scrap...
anyone know where i can get a mag-float with a razor blade on it? i know someone from this group use to make them. i have a mag float that works great for everything except coraline.
(thread highjacking in progress)
I have a 55g sump for my 180g DT, but also another 55g Fuge that is plumbed into the same sump. So, yes it is 'do-able'. But I started both at the same time, dont really the best the way to integrate a new tank into an existing system like that.
