    Closed Loop Help Needed

Even 850gph is a small amount of water movement IMO, uless your return pump is really hauling or you have powerheads. I vote for enlarging the holes and using an even bigger pump than the one you have. If you move those holes up to accomodate 1" bulkheads then your selection of pumps grows...

    Flow in a hexagon tank?

Good point about the rock deflecting some of the current. Havent really decided on fish at this point, but nothing that couldnt handle nice brisk flow. I am thinking that with the powerheads in the back corners and the front glass only 24" away, the flow would bounce off the irregular walls...

    Flow in a hexagon tank?

Let me throw an idea out there... I have been analyzing (in my mind at least) flow patterns in a hexagon tank. Tank is 60 gallons, 27" x 24" x 28" high Height will obviously be the issue to overcome here. Lets assume a FOWLR tank...20-30x turnover, so maybe a minimum of 1500gph Proposed...

    Loc Line?

As long as the ends are all submerged it should be fine. I would just hate to see it pop off and start a hose all over your carpet!

Can someone recommend so good T5 lights

I would like to see a side by side with the Nova and Tek fixtures. Seems like a waste to have a 160w fixture if your reflectors are worth 50%.

    Ro-Di

And in response to the original question, there has been some evidence that RO/DI water in large quanities could be dangerous as it can cause an osmotic shift in your body. I wouldnt make a habit of drinking it as-is, but for juice, coffee and cooking its fine. And if you like the taste of RO/DI...

    What protien skimmer to buy

I have always been very please with the AquaC Remora (hang on) and Urchin (sump). I see a lot of people commenting on the Coralife SuperSkimmer, which I dont have personal experience with, but I definately like what the AquaCs have to offer. 1. Sleek black. Matches with a black background. 2...

Can someone recommend so good T5 lights

What size is your new tank? How deep? What are you planning on keeping? I have used the TekLight T5s in the past and was very, very pleased. I ran a 4x39w fixture on a 65g tank (24" high) and LPS had no issues on the bottom. Crocea clam near the top wasnt displaying any signs of distress. I...
