Been reading a lot about it lately. Anyone have the word on the final verdict?
Good? Bad?
Anyone have a mod kit or modified pump they are selling?
Looking for something to push 1200+gph but I dont have a lot of cash.
(Hence the 100 different posts on flow options for my tank!) :)
Another option (possibly the easiest) would be to use a 1" seaswirl.
I would have a 1" PVC intake running to a pump (Gen-X Mak 4 or similar PanWorld pump) and then back up to the sea swirl
This would give me great water movement...I could add a locline Y to the outlet...and around 1100gph...
Hey all!
Sorry for all the questions about water flow lately!
My next questions is regarding a closed loop.
I am looking at a 60g hex (27" x 24" x 28") and I would like 1800-2400 gph water flow. This will be a FOWLR, so that may even be more flow than necessary.
ANYWAY...I am considering a...
Anyone use these pumps on a wavemaker?
Manufacterer says NO, but most of the pump makers say this.
I heard you can use them on a wavemaker that has a soft or gradual start function.
The Red Sea Wavemaster Pro has this slow start function, as does the Seio controller.
Significant difference...
This is turning out to be a great discussion!
I have decided to try both powerheads in the back "corner" of the tank, each facing forward and slightly across the tank in the opposite direction.
One (1200gph Koralia 4) will be almost horizontal and the other (850gph Koralia 3) will face...
Koralia vs vortech! WOW!
You could buy 2 koralia AND the Seio controller for the same price (actually less) than the vortech.
My decision has been made! :)
:D
Same question I have been asking to myself.
Anyone with experience with that?
I would say for a REEF you would want the random, turbulent flow.
For FOWLR perhaps the directional water movement.
But even with a hexagon, the irregular shape should lend itself so SOME random flow, right?
