Talk about no good deed going unpunished!

Its not any cleaner when you have it done in the ER. Ice that finger pretty good. Depending on how much blood collected under there and how bad the swelling gets you might still lose the nail. Make sure it doesnt get infected.

    Water storage

This is going to be a sumpless tank. All water in one box! I travel a lot for work, sometimes several weeks at a time. I cant afford a phone call "dear...there a leak somewhere in your tank" while I am away. Feeding, top offs, cleaning glass...the fiancee has that covered. But I dont want to...

    Starting 12 gallon nano cube

You are talking to the nanocube mod master! 1. Use a MJ900 in 3rd chamber for water return (cooler and more powerful than stock pump) 2. Locline "Y" and 2 nozzles on output 3. Remove plastic backing on 2nd chamber to form an externally-lit refugium 4. Buy a SuperNimble nano cleaning magnet...

    Water storage

This post is giving me some good ideas. How far and to what height can a typical RO/DI output line pump? If it can pump from basement to first floor...I think I might be able to implement some of the ideas you guys are throwing around. THanks!

    Water storage

So I am going to be storing my water in the basement bathroom...actually keeping a water storage container in the shower down there. I have a dehumidifier running constantly to combat any excess moisture or mold. I plan on making water on a schedule rather than having a float & shut off valve...

    Stock my 72g Bowfront FOWLR

Ive had rabbitfish in the past, definately a cool fish. I was leaning more towards a single trigger or puffer. A lionfish keeps peaking my interest as well though. Would love an eel, but the fiancee isnt crazy about that idea!

Well, the ocean TDS is high not because of that lovely copper in our pipes or the wonderful flora of the city water system, but because of the abundance of microoganisms and such. You cant really use ocean water as an example because of the diluting ability.

The only place where you need lab grade water is in a lab...and not even there most of the time. I think we all get carried away with purity of our water (Im guilty as well), but in reality we would probably be OK with clean water...a notch above tap.

    Fuge substrate

I say skip the crushed coral. In my fuges I liked a live rock rubble barebottom (golf ball sized pieces) with cheatomorpha. I opted for a high flow refugium in order to prevent a lot of things from settling on the bottom. I never understood the reasons for a low flow fuge and no one has been...
