I never really gravel vac my sand. I let my CUC do the job. I've never had a problem with a lot of garbage being left around. I just stir the sand bed on occasion.

Where do you have them placed? I've always found that they do better mid tank level with HQI rather than closer to the top.

Always heard very good things about Aqualine AB HQI bulbs (and they are probably the ones I'll switch to in a few months).

As long as you cut the mouth in half it should be fine. Some people probably cut them in fours even, but I certainly won't try it and confirm it!

I'm selling the skimmer that came with my CADLights tank. It's made by them and it works insanely well. I just like my Aqua C a bit more. I'm not asking much. Like $75 or something for the skimmer. It would definitely work in sump.

Most tank raised clowns eventually learn to host with BTAs. Usually not RIGHT away, but they will usually learn to.

I crush up some New Life Spectrum pellets quite often and let them soak for a while in water to break them down even further. My LPS love getting squirted with that little concoction.

The "dead" monti will probably turn it around as long as you keep your tank in check. I had a green birdsnest frag fall into the sand top first and stayed there about 2 days before I noticed it. Completely bleached. It is now fully recovered in a few weeks.

Good for the SPS. More than enough, really, but it's a deep tank so I'm sure it helps quite a bit.

JMO, but no one should have emerald crabs, either. 90% of the time the crab turns into a predator after a year or two when it gets big enough to grab small fish. Those crabs are bad news. Same with the Sally Lightfoot crabs that people seem to use.

Frankly, even touching your skin is a bad idea. My whole arm went numb for well over a few hours once when fragging a paly rock a few years ago. Scared as hell because of it, too! Won't be keeping them any time soon ;)
