How'd I miss this? ??? Holy smokes, Tom, you're WAY ahead of me with learning to use your new toy. You know I got one, too, and here are my first attempts (macro lens that is....same as Tom's) :-[
Please feel free to tell me to start my own thread if I'm intruding, ok? :-X
Ryan, I seriously doubt anyone is disgusted with you. Believe me, if I were to tell everyone how I ran my 58 gallon way back when in Oklahoma, my very first attempt at a saltwater tank, and what all I had in there, I'd be looked at funny (to say the least).
We all learn our lessons, and...
Here's the finished product. Took 3.5 hours to get it all colored in. I'm a wee bit sore, but absolutely love the result. Better than I had anticipated. :)
:o You got 2 Sixlines? Yowser! Were they accustomed to each other when you got them, like were they in the same tank before? If they weren't, more likely than not one of them will end up dead.
I had never heard of "Festivus", so I looked it up. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Festivus
You mean you wrestle the head of the household to the floor? :o
In any case, to those who celebrate it: Happy Festivus.
Thanks Curt, Matt, and Tom. :)
Matt, feel free to stop by anytime you want.
Tom, nope, none of those are Macros. The lens is wrapped up and tucked nicely under the tree. ;D
Thanks a million Dabooth and Pete. :)
Played with the camera again. Figured I'd share some pictures of something other than stonies.
Some zoas and palys (for the world of me I can't take good pictures of those at all :-[)
Some Acans
Blastos
And some fishies :)
He's...
No? I was under the impression they knew it all. ::)
I'd like to play it safe, especially since I'm fairly certain that most of those who have their own RO/DI units don't have all the other toys needed to run their water at a specific temp with a specific pressure all the time.
And lastly, I...
Here is a PDF.file from our sponsor Air Water Ice on how to set up/hook up a unit.
Please see page 3 on which line to tap into. ;)

I've never heard of this before. My RO/DI unit came with specific instructions for tapping into the COLD water line - NOT the hot water one. As a matter of fact I should never run hot water through there as per directions.
The only place I see moisture is on the window in the room the fish tank is in - nowhere else. No salt creep or moisture on any appliances. It's not like you take a hot bath with the door shut and when you step out you're in a fog or something like that. ;D
I wouldn't add a glass top either. I mean I'm experiencing a similar problem (minus the mold), and actually enjoy the added humidity in the house. Much easier on my sinuses than hot, dry air. :)
Holy smokes, Mike -- tank looks GREAT! What an improvement!! ;D
Don't jynx yourself about possibly being let go today. Matt, sorry to hear about your layoff. How can employers lay someone off THIS close to the Holidays? :o Don't they have a conscience?
