Mike,
Bob is right about your flatworms. They're all over. I see them in the second, third and fourth picture. :o
I know nothing about them, so please ask someone on what to do about them.
LOL, JR.
Here's another. Sure brings back some horrid memories:
Ryan, don't panic if/when everything turns green on you. Feed as little as possible, do regular water changes just like you do now, decrease the lighting period, throw in some snails, and in time it'll go away again. :)...
Why not try 2 small/young ones in one tank first? You might get lucky and they'll end up as a pair. :D If they don't, you can always take one out and put him in the other tank.
Wow, that baby is filling up fast.
I've got to be honest, you must have nerves of steel to add that sea apple. :o And now I finally understand your signature, lol. :) Gorgeous carpet though. LOVE the magnificent nem, too.
Yes, I'd wait a week to 10 days and then treat again. No need to change the carbon until you do another water change AFTER the second treatment.
I change my carbon every 3 weeks. :)
Erik, you really should do at least 2 treatments, to be on the safe side. You killed all the adult ones, but if the eggs hatch, they'll be back on your acros in no time.
As for the carbon, yes you should exchange it after doing a good water change.
Oh she's just BEATIFUL, Erna. You and Doug have to be SO proud. She looks so big, too! Looking at the size of her head alone makes me remember all too well what THAT was like. :o
LOLOL, John. Yes, the Marineland IS really nice. Please don't tell me "I told you so", but now that the 180 has been up and running, I seriously regret not going for the 300. :-X
I read about the UV increasing clarity and allowing more light to penetrate. As long as I see those polyps I won't...
Thank you all for the responses.
Hayabusa, I will never use another type of meds in my tank ever again. That much I know for sure. Even though it wasn't quite labeled as medication, you're right about the bacteria part. None of my corals were probably ever exposed to those before, and the few...
Yeah Mike, I'm afraid you're right.
I was just taking a really close look at my German Green and Bonsai, and they are ever so s l o w l y beginning to gain some color again. Fingers are crossed that the Shades of Fall will follow suit. As long as I don't have any tissue recession, I won't...
Ryan, it would really be helpful if we (I) knew where you lived. I do have some zoos I could frag and GIVE you a couple so you can see if they work for you. I'm in Howell. But please, before you venture into any corals, get test kits for dKh and Ca. SERA is pretty inexpensive - yet quite accurate.
Hey, the filtration you're using right now on your nano is working, right? So keep it! If you were talking about your future nano, and you're looking for skimmers, I heard that the Remora hang ons are great skimmers. But I have no experience with them whatsoever - so don't quote me on anything...
3 of my SPS (ORA German Green with Blue, Garf Bonsai & Shades of Fall) have lost most of their color. They all still have polyp extension, but the colors "washed" away. They are not snow white, but extremely pale.
All my parameters are in check, but I did 3 things, perhaps all of them, a...
