Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
I acclimate all fish carefully and slowly. Not with the drip system, but by placing the new arrival in a decent sized bowl, covering it so it's dark, and every 15-20 minutes I add a cup of aquarium water.
All corals go through several inspections with manifying glass and bright light, and...
Never heard of increased mag. levels killing hair algae, but I have heard/read that it'll take care of bryopsis. Here's an interesting link:

Inquisitive, I bought all my LR from Bernie (seatrademarine) when I set up my 75, and I absolutely loved it. It came fresh from the airport, was still wet, and it was fully cured in under a month. I had hitchhikers (the good ones only), and loved watching things pop up. It seemed as if my tank...
Nice Mike! In the first photo, the coral to the left could perhaps be a Stylophora, and the one on the right a Green Slimer. Just guessing though. They look very nice!
Oh, and perhaps next time you come and visit....and you have some spare....could I buy some Zoa frags from you?
Bob, thanks for the tips. I'll use the tripod with ALL pics next time, and will mark the spot for the FTS.
Greg, now I'm dizzy. :o
I resized some pictures and will try and post them next to each other. Hope this works.
Wow, awesome, Greg. When I first looked at the "pulsing" picture I thought "Whoah...lay off the wine, Wendy", until I saw you had created it. ;D
I didn't move anything around, but I actually got rid off some stuff (orange crush acan), and severely trimmed my tabling millis because they were...
It's been a week, so here are pictures I just took a few minutes ago. So far so good. :)
I apologize for not being able to take the pictures the exact same way I did the previous week. I tried my best. I also don't know how to put the pictures next to each other for comparison purposes. :-[...
LOLOL. Yep, he's got a Nori belly all right. Too funny! Great pictures, Merv. ;D My Hippo never touched Nori, and I mean NEVER - until I added a Sailfin & Rabbitfish. Once he saw those two eat it, he got one taste of it and was hooked on it instantly.
Great update, Merv, and your corals look super. :)
One request: Can you please PM me that recipe? Because despite putting on my reading glasses and nearly having my faced pushed into the monitor with a magnifying glass, it's hard for me to read the recipe. :-[
Thank you Steve.
Merv, no the bottle didn't tell me. But I think I'll follow your advice. So far I've seen no negative effects (again, knock on wood). No updates yet. I'll try and update either Friday or Saturday with pictures. So far I've been dosing 4 drops of AA and CV daily. Today I'll...
Just came back from a roadtrip to Ocean Gallery II a little while ago. WOW! What a great place, what a HUGE variety of fish and corals, what awesome prices! I know I walked around with my jaw wide open the entire time. The staff was/is terrific, super helpful, bending over backwards to...
Check out this unit:

It comes with everything you need, even a faucet hookup, so you can stow the unit away when you're done with it. ;)
Don't ask me about water changes, because I'm a stickler when it comes to...
Of course I don't mind, Bax. Great picture, too. Thank you for your kind words. :)
Looking at the 2 tabling millis on the right makes me want to cry because I had to seriously cut into them yesterday since the green milli was beginning to do major damage to the rose milli. They are now...
It could be the Sixline. Mine was a terror, he thought the entire tank belonged to him. You see I'm using the past tense, "was". ::)
How big is your tank, and what other fish do you have?
We have our RO/DI unit hooked up under the sink in the bathroom. It's always tucked away nice and neatly, and you don't even know it's there. :) They don't require all that much room. All you have to do is tap into the cold water line to hook it up. Quite simple (well....for my husband...not for...
