Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
under 80, but my ac is on and set to 73 degrees. Normally the tank sits between 77-79 year round. Oh and MH pendant 8 inches over the water on an open top with fan.
Side: I have not seen so many chillers in use since I came back east.
Doesn't an ASOV require a pressurized water tank to turn off?
Lou, depending on the size of your reservoir. (barrel?) I would run two float valves. One near the top to turn off the water supply. The other one near the bottom to start the water running. This way you don't have your RO unit...
phil, that's a big reason to why I dose when I don't have filter feeders.
With my latest setup I'm turning my tank greenish once every 4-6 days. Enough to give a green tint, but still see everything inside. I haven't noticed an increase in nitrates or phosphates yet. I have noticed my pod and...
Something you should also consider is a closed loop manifold system. Plus it would in theory clear your tank of some powerheads. (Note: this does assume canopy top)
First is on the closed loop (don't need the sqwd BTW). The second is for the manifold.

Assuming you're going to have a website... a list of what brands of drygoods you regularly carry woulld be nice. (Maybe even a listing of the companies you can order from but I don't know if that would work)
A small selection of bulbs would be nice in case of emergency. Kinda thinking maybe one...
Well if I could edit I would have also added that the reef tour they put on annually is neat. Club members voluntarily hold a parade of homes style open house to the local community.
That porter is some good stuff. My wife's grandparents came out one summer while we were still living out there...
Man I we miss Utah. The local club is a nice one. They had a meeting while you were there. Too bad you weren't able to check it out. Oh well, here's their site. http://www.utahreefs.com/
Sorry to continue hijack...
I have a feeling it's because of cost, either in extra manufacturing time or materials. Quicker to drill the bottom and wedge a piece of plastic in for the overflow. Too bad since I like the looks of Calfo's design.
Really? I'll have to read up on it. Last I read on DSB, and mind you it was a while ago, is they weren't the greatest when you have a small surface area. I hate being behind the times. >:(
