What is your concentration of Kalk per gallon in teaspoons?
Kalkwasser stirrer I add 2 cups every 2 weeks.
Do you dissolve the kalk in vinegar? If so, how much vinegar do you use?
No
What is your dosing method? Drip, single...
I had one a couple years ago It did not work very well the heads would constantly drip and get alot of air bubbles in the lines making it not dose right. Ended up just throwing it in the garbage.
Magnesium is just as important as alk and calcium if your magnesium is low it will be hard to balance your alk and calcium. All for reef doesn't add enough magnesium to increase your level just maintain your current level.
For a dosing pump you can get a kamoer x1 it's a couple dollars cheaper...
Look in to tropic marin all for reef it's a all in one. Its alkalinity, calcium, magnesium and trace elements. I use it on my nano works very well. All you need is one dosing pump. Brs sells it and they use it on some of their office tanks.
Thanks it was in pretty bad shape for a while still have some damaged coral but they are healing.
Going to put the calcium reactor back on after Christmas. Tank is starting to eat up alk and calcium again. Dosing kalk and a 100 mls of alk and calcium. I was dosing 180 mls before the crash
Haven't updated in a while tank is doing much better now. I think it was a bad batch of fritz salt. Went back to instant ocean and the tank made a complete turn around.
I run a kalk stirrer plus 2 part on my 225 fed by my ato and it is very stable. My evaporation doesn't vary much and my alk is between 7.7 to 7.9.
On my nano I run a x1 single head dosing pump and dose tropic marin all for reef which is alk, calcium, magnesium and trace elements all in one...
Depends on the coral but most of them will be a nice mini colony after about a year. I have a red planet that's a little over a year old and it's the size of a dinner plate. Then I have a grape juice that's around the same age and it's the size of an egg.
