I have used both, and now just use the mesh type. The felt type clogged more quickly, and were harder to clean, but they did do a better job. So, it's a little bit of a trade off.

I keep: Peppermint, Blood, Coral Banded and Skunk cleaners without any problems. Crabs include Blue, Red legs and Dwarf Zebra's. Snails include; Nerite, Nassarius Vibrex, Banded Trochus, Cerith, Fighting conch's and Dove.

I use the ROX 0.8 GAC from BRS, I also use thier High Capacity GFO. Both of my reactor's are located in what used to be my fuge compartment, both intakes and discharges. I do use the prefilter sponges on both reactor pumps.

Should introduce the pellets slowly, i.e. 1/3 the amount for a few weeks, add another 1/3 for a few more and then the balance. Run them so the top of the column is just moving like a slow boil, kind of like you should run your GFO. I have mine running for about a year now, and all is good.

Looks like a Hydnophora, make sure you give this one a lot of space, they are very aggressive. Everything looks great.

What salt mix are you using? There has been some discussion about a batch of IO RC in a 160 gal. bucket, being problematic and nuking tanks.

How much are you talking about? How old is it? I think if it were me, I'd just replace the substrate.

I have one of the newer Marineland MJ1200, and never use any of the "hardware" that comes with it, to include a swivel mount. If that fits, you can have it.

What's the PO4 in the tank? Are you running any GFO or GAC?
