Been using the AB+ for a few months now.
Corals love it and I'm getting fantastic growth, at least on my SPS.
I have a 40g total water volume and I dose 4-5ml a day straight into the return pump chamber, so it circulates through the tank.
Within seconds I have full SPS polyp extension, so I know...
Crashin, watching horror films, drinking a few brews from Alternative Reality, and making white chicken chili.
A throw away day while practicing ultimate laziness.
Hope you all enjoy as well.
Under impression that Bernoulli/Venturi effect will pull water from both when either one is running. As water moves it creates negative pressure behind it. The check valves will stop backflow but wont prevent water from either line from filling that negative pressure space.
At least thats what I...
I have an Uncle Ozzy.
He was a bowler.
In the 1970's he was on a show called 'Bowling for Dollars', did very well, and was champion for a bit.
In the mid-70's height of bowling excitement, he was rating as a pro player.
He was humble but proud, up and coming, and had a potentially lucrative...

Diana,
I thought about it but the fuge is pretty big and it would take considerable modification, not to mention building the LEDs to have enough power to light it, then figuring out a controller.
The fuge is working wonderfully right now as a pod factory and is keeping my mandaran happy and...
Hockeynut used to do something like this. He used 40g's and would run a central section with rock, planted macro, and a cuc. Looked great (though it was under cabinet) and from what he'd tell me, it worked well.
But, he was using a full 40g tank and had a high nutrient (and balanced) system.
I...
Just took a dive on one of these...

Seems a reasonable build. Don't have the time or resources to build my own at this point, and I've read some iffy reviews on the Santa Monicas and the CoralVues, plus I needed...
When I used cups I would take a normal plastic cup and invert it. Then I would trim aeound the rim until the upside down plastic cup fit snugly into the plastic holder.
This would create a false floor in the plastic holder, raising the floss level up quite a bit so that water had to flow through...
My cousin is an agent and though he cant really talk about his work he has shared some stories of when he was a new agent. Apparently the FBI is required to investigate everything assigned, so the new agents get the crap work. He’s told me stories from petty neighbor complaints to a guy that...
Diana,
When I drilled my old 40 i put two beams on the ground and placed the tank on them, with the side i wanted to drill on the bottom (closest to the floor/ground).
Then I filled that side of the tank with water so I had a 1/2” layer of coolant/lubricant - the lip of the tank keeps the water...
But seriously - a federal case?
I can see it now in FBI headquarters, morning brief:
'Agents, good work on that Armenian spy ring, look like the missiles are safe.
This morning we're tracking a bitcoin exchange regarding 200Ks of heroin coming out of Bogota destined for... HOLD iT!
MY GOD...
