I just ordered a third one, a little smaller @ 90watts. I have two of the 120's on my tank now, but since I had to mount them into the lid of my canopy, I don't have the ability to elevate them for more spread. The unit I ordered doesn't have any control at all, not even a power switch and a...
What are your parameters, i.e. NO2-3, NH 3-4, PO4, etc.? What kit do you use to test them, i.e. Salifert, etc.? Is your skimmer in good working order? When was the last time you replaced the media in your GFO/GAC reactors? When was the last time you cleaned your WC container? Are your TDS from...
Pricing is about par for most LFS. A lot of variables in pricing, so I don't know what to tell you, all depends on the size and quality of the frag. I guess if you like what you see and are willing to pay the price, you buy it. I resurrected my tank about a year and a half ago and have just...
I've thought about what I'd like to do, if I could start over again, and would probably do a combination of both. I'd do a coast to coast beananimal overflow, which would provide both my sump and closed loop. I'd use the return on the closed loop to provide flow behind and around the rock work...

I have an old RO unit you can have. I replaced the membrane in it about three months before I took it out of service, but it needs both the sediment and carbon block. If I have a couple of extra's I'll sell you one set of those too ~$15.00.
I don't think you'll need to use "live" sand at this point, I'd just get a 30# bag of sugar sized oolite and rinse it before you try to add it to the tank. I like to use my tank water when I do a WC for this and rinse it about 3x and dump the dirty water. I scoop the "cleaned" substrate into a...
I know of someone who did this. He bought a large piece of plastic, 1.5 mil I think, covered the tank and stand, taped the plastic to the floor all around the tank. He added a PH with a piece of tubing to the venturi and ran it out a nearby window, he also added another piece, not connected to...
I'm assuming you have a DSB, since you already have a jawfish, so I think a leopare wrasse would be a nice addition. I also like Midas Blenny's, they spend time in their hole, but are frequently in the main water column.
One of the first things I'd get is a good RO/DI unit, you'd save a lot of money in the long run and would be sure of the quality of your water. I'd clean all the pumps and containers you are using. What do you keep in your tank? Why mix the salt mixes together?
