Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Please keep the updates rolling. I will to. I've been hesitant to remove my corals in fear of the Dino's being on them and moving to my other tank as well. So far they are doing ok though during the day they get a few strings of Dino's on them. They, so far have handled the blackouts well...
Don't put to much stock in the hydrogen peroxide cure. It'***** or miss like all the other "fixes" in this hobby. My sons tank got hit pretty hard with it and I'm still going at it. The biggest dent was lights out and peroxide both. But after 6days no lights it showed back up slowly but surely...
Nice find and good luck with it. I've been thinking of going back to T5 for my 180. I would jump on that 60" 8 bulb if I though it would cover the whole 6' tank. but im not sure the 6" short on either side would make a difference.
Not sure I can give you an exact recipe but I'll see what I can do. The original batch I made has lasted me more then a year and I gave a good bit away for other to try.
What I bought:
1lb each of clams, mussels, squid, scallops, and shrimp.
1 nice size piece of whatever fish filet they had. I...
I have tossed around giving halides a shot but I just never commit. Running LEDs ATM but to be honest I'm thinking of going back to T5, if I can get my wife to let me hang a fixture, and find one that will cover a 180 at a reasonable price.
Accidently chose other. But I use a homemade blend that I came up with. I have used various others in the past like Rods, KB, and LRS. But at this point I can't see throwing my money away for something I can do better and far cheaper.
I'm a doser and will stay that way for quite some time.
It started off a little shaky but everything is currently locked in. So I'm gonna ride that out.
When I was looking in to cal reactors all my research brought me back to the aquarium plans regulator and MRC reactors. From what I've read you can't miss on either one.
Update.
And not the good kind
I'll start by saying that my 90 had gotten to a place where everything was running great. Acro's, which I had originally had problems with were starting to do great. The montis were always doing awesome and my fish were always happy and health despite knowing ich...
What are you using now? If you are oversized for your current setup then chances are you will be good for the 120 as well.
That said I usually recommend the SWC skimmers as I have used them and loved them all. I had a SWC 120 a while back and my 90 ran the SWC 160. Both were great skimmers...
