I just bought a used 30g cube and bought Dr Tims 1 and only,, Fritz ammonia, 20lbs of live sand, have a few pieces of dry rock and live rock- getting some more from Salted on Sunday. Should I jump start with the ammonia or wait until I have all the rock in the tank and then add the bacteria

I'm not growing chaeto to eat, I'm sure some lights will make it grow faster or produce more 'nutrients' but a cheap white/ grow light has mine growing and is doing it's job- and I have to throw the stuff away ( can't give it way)- my pods love it too

I guess it depends on the size chamber you're growing it in- I have a 7" submersible light on white in a hob on my 13g and it grows chaeto and dragon's breath just fine

You need nothing more than a cheap white light or grow light for chaeto- all depends on the size of the chamber it's in- I grow mine with lights all under $10-submersible strip lights varied lengths and a clip on grow light all on amazon- my tanks are all under 50 gal and chambers are on the...
