Need help starting a 30 gallon Seahorse/Soft Coral Tank

Seahorses and soft corals make a great combination. As for a basic set up you can run a simple HOB skimmer, power filter or both. Can even go with a simple sump design. Just remember to break the flow up so as not to blow the seahorses all over the tank. I run my tanks in the 6-8x turnover area...

    Dwarf Lion Fish

What species of dwarf lion is it? Got any pictures? The reason I ask is because if you got a dwarf zebra lion there is a really good chance that it's not a dwarf but rather an antennata lion. All the supposed dwarf zebras that have come in lately are misidentified. Lions need to be trained...

Candy Canes and MH 150 Lighting

With that big of an upgrade in lighting you will need to acclimate the corals to it over a period of a few weeks. One way to do it is to put a few layers (say 5 or 6) layers of fiberglass window screen between the lights and your tank. Every 3-4 days remove 1 layer of screen. Once all the screen...

Has anyone successfully sealed a large crack in their tank?

You can't seal a crack like that. Only way to fix it is to replace either the whole back glass or the whole tank.

    Glued pvc

I used a heat gun. You can try a hair dryer but not sure if it would get hot enough. Just be sure to do it in a well ventilated area. Heating PVC releases so pretty nasty fumes.

    Glued pvc

You can try heating the fittings up and pulling them apart. I have done this a few times, just gotta be careful you don't overheat them and melt them.

    Red/blue ribbed worms?

    Fragging Sinularia

I usually try to cut as close to the base of the branch as possible, this way you get the thickest part to attach to a new rock.

    Fragging Sinularia

    Noisy Skimmer

You can try removing the collection cup and placing a piece of polyfilter over the elbow where the spray nozzle is.

    Goby ID please

I have never heard of them picking at SPS, but they do nest in SPS corals and just their nesting behaviour alone can irritate the coral to the point of killing part of it off.

    Unknown Snail¿ Need an ID

It's not a snail but rather a spaghetti worm. They are great for the sandbed and at picking up left over foods.

    Reef Gadget

I find that for regular maintenance the plastic blade works just fine. I always leave mine in the tanks with the plastic blades on them.
