Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
I opted out of using socks because
1) not sure if I clean them enouph (some dirt still stays in felt socks) , especially bleach. Did not want to risk adding even small amounts of bleach to tank.
2) stuff that sock catches could become the food something in the tank. I don't overfeed.
I'll try to participate with my 2 daughters. I think it would be a good experience for them.
I live on Staten Island shore.
Usually, when I clean the beach near our community, they not sure what to think.
They know it's good, but they do not see anyone but their dad doing the clean-up.

I second that.
That's why I started build of my second tank with main goal - simplicity. If your corals and fish look/eat OK - that's main indicator that all is OK. If you will push for high bio-load, it will be harder to balance all components, and eventually trouble will start.
So...
As promiced, feeding time pics:
2 midas blennys (no fighting so far):
2 wrasses (can you see little 6-line?):
2 tangs (also no fighting so far, with my old yellow + hypo they 'danced' often ):
fat six line
fire fish 'hosting' RBTA:
new clown, likes to hang out near seaswirl, so far...
I know my carpet surfers. That's why I've decided to have high canopy.
I've recently aquired small 1.5" six line wrasse. She's still in. But then, again, it seems my fish are friendly.
At least for now, when they are not fully grown.
Question about fish behavior: Do saltwater fish bag for...
Dimentions H 13", d 2.75", w 6" .
I've tried MaxJet 400, was too weak, then MaxiJet 1200, last - AquaClear 70 ( 400 gph, was OK).
I have AquaClear70 and can add it for $10.
Also, as you see on the picture, I've added 1/4 hose to drain skimmate into bigger container.
