    sorry to hear about your loss! Do you really think that the skimmer was the problem? I ran my tank for 4 months w/o a skimmer when I first started. I couldn't figure out how to get it working since it didn't come with a pump.

    Reusing a medicated tank? Yea or nay?

    For better or worst I always clean my QT with a little bleach and water and use it again. I never considered the concept of silicone holding onto any chems I use though.

    where to find 1/4" acrylic

    HD and Lowes have a variant of acrylic, but I think that your better off with cast acrylic and you need to go to a sign maker/store to pick that up.

    I tested ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, PH, cal, alk and PH4 and everything was within reason. But, the tank is prodementaly sofies, so the different types of xenia's are probably eating up the Phosphates to give me a false reading. I am using RO/DI water and the filters are still from Sept/Oct...
