just curious. Has anyone looked at the tunze 6100 diy wavemaker on RC? I am thinking about making one. It is just an acrylic box and some electronics to run it. You have to have a Tunze 6100 or similar DC pump. Should I try it?

I bought the YSI colorometer at aquatic eco systems. it does my lr phosphate, my calcium, my alkalinity, ph, and 50 other tests that i didnt buy the reagent for. waiting for the magnesium reagent for saltwater applications. my fav reef item. no more guessing.

i bought the pro only a couple of months ago. they have the bent reflectors to wrap each bulb. my other 8 lamp is a flat reflector.

the only problem with that idea is that it only comes with one magnet. bummer, huh?

You can use the white impeller if you shave it down a bit. Still only for the K4.

A pressurized filter is best, like an eheim or a hagen. I use a canister filter and fill the trays only with carbon. I change it every 3 weeks so that it doesnt become too filled with aerobic bacteria. You can use it in a filter sock if you are using it just after your ozonizer.

It will not work on anything but a 4. Different size magnet and length. Only works with the brown impeller that comes with the kit as well.

yea, those parts are made of acrylic. i agree with jason, get weldon 16 or weldon 4 to re-melt those parts together. they actually fuse together kinda like using MEK on PVC pipes. repair it using this type of acrylic solvent ("glue") and it will be stronger than new.
