Hey Merv, I am coming to that meeting. Bring those two humi please.  If you decided to break off a piece of that blue coral i saw in one of your photos, i would surely pay dearly. You know, the one we talked about at the christmas party.  ;D
I am probably going to bring my kids (4) and husband. (90% sure) Also, I am bringing a large tray of lasagna or maybe a big tray of sausage and peppers like i made at the last meeting. I will bring a chafing dish setup to keep it hot.
FYI- these towns, North Plainfield, South Plainfield and Plainfield only have their names in common. Otherwise they are each so different from one another. As a matter of fact, they are all in different counties. North Plainfield is in Somerset County, South Plainfield is in Middlesex County and...
I change 50 gal every 2 weeks. I am not really sure how many gallons I have plumbed together. I estimate about 300 gal total, so what is that, about 17% water change? During a partial water change, I suck out all the detritus I can find and sift/siphon the top layer of part of my dsb.
a ph of 8.1 at night is just fine. mine goes down to 7.9 every night and 8.2 in the day. i have a ca reactor and drip kalk every night. my sps are happy as clams. what matters most is stability of your ph and alk. keep your alkalinity on the high side.
anthony calfo has great advice on his chat...
i would be wise to add a check valve. just before the bubble counter. in other words, tank, regulator, needle valve, check valve, bubble counter, ca reactor. my korallin uses the brass check valve as sold in marinedepot.com. it is a great one. german made.
Marcelo,
You wont mess things up, just try, ask Rich all the questions you can think of, he's DA BOMB with acrylic! I could be the backup, though. I learned thru trial and error, also the internet helped. This is the most helpful website, with photos, melevsreef...
shipping is a killer for thick acrylic, and the bigger it is, is worse. i buy my 1/2 inch cast acrylic sheets at a place in the raritan expo center industrial complex in edison for 7 dollars a square foot. they come in 4 ft by 8 ft sheets. their weldon 4 is 45 bucks a gallon. i pick it up...
Does this skimmer utilize the beckett technology or is it the one that slams the water thru bioballs. If it has a beckett valve, turn down the air intake. make sure the bubbles are TINY. and if there are too many big bubbles kind of "burping" to the top, that will wreck the reaction as well...
Looks like the begining of a skimmer with a new shape. Hey, start a fad! I knew you were DA BOMB!
I bought a sheet of 1/2" clear acrylic for a tank, then I built myself a huge router table (4ft x 5ft) with a pseuto-rip fence. WOW i now see what you mean by "you will not believe what you are...
wow!!!! Dan, I never saw so many zoos in one area. :o
Rich da Bomb, nice photos of your zoos, I am impressed with the close ups! Show me how to take a nice shot like that, at the next meeting. OK?
Renee
OH MY, everyone is so gracious. Wow, you are all welcome.
The party wouldn't have been such a success without all of the generosity of the officers (and volunteers) of NJRC. They deserve all of the thanks, not me.
>>>>>>>>>So, THANK YOU to all of the officers!!!! <<<<<<<<<<
You guys...
