I left saltwaterfish <dot> coms boards for that very same reason. I feel RC is better than some and worse than others. Unfortunately that's where most of the traffic is, which is why I'm there so much. I also really like fragexchange but there's not so much traffic over there (unfortunately).

I wouldn't even think twice about putting the sump in a basement. Without a doubt, there are MAJOR advantagest to it. I would also think about sending the lighting ballasts down there too.
