Sixline all the way for me. Mine is very peaceful but with no other fish your def good to go. Plus they are usually available pretty small a plus for the 14 gal.
Thanks everyone for the compliments. There will be no demonstrations ever of my lack of tank making skills. I'll leave that to the pros. Any way here is a new pic of the tank cleaned up and in its home.
Still got a lot to do though and none of it happens until this tank sits with water for a...
Yes, providing you buy new. All the newer ones come with everything you need to run them. You can't/shouldn't run them in the dual reactor though. If you get that you will need to split them in two. There were a few guys here that used the BRS reactors for pellets and reported that they worked...
I was prepared to use regular aquarium silicon until I recently spoke with either Will or Ethen at AO(I don't know which is which). They pretty much talked me out of it and into the RTV. I'm very happy he did. The AGA silicon is very runny, I'm sure that would have been a complete disaster.
Josh, I have a brand new thing of AGA silicon I was gonna use on my nano. I went with RTV instead. I got it about a week ago at allquatics. They have a few tubes left or I'll sell you mine for what I paid. PM me if interested.
That was the tape to hold everything in place. There was some on the sides too. I took that off already, but like I said its stuck to the table pad I used. I'm just gonna wait a bit longer till I cut it away.
At running capacity it's gonna have just over 9gals of water. With 1/4" glass I should be fine. Considering I've been see a lot of people removing the rims on 10, 15, & 20H and L gal tanks, all of which have considerable thinner glass.
Well if this thing hold water I'll be amazed. Never in my life did I think this would've so difficult. Well the RTV claims 24hrs for a full cure, so I guess I'll fill little by little tomorrow night or Monday and see how things go. I'm also gonna put a power head in there once it filled and let...
If you do decide to remove, keep an eye on the rest of the tank. I had a good amount of cyano in my sump and only in my sump. I decided one day that it would be a good idea to clean it all out. A few days later it was in the DT and not I'm my sump. It has since gone away though.
