Basically I helps to relieve pressure points under the tank that could cause sit "off". They usually have a bit of give to them like styrofoam. Im trying to avoid styrofoam mainly cause I don't want to put anything around the tank to cover it up.

When you get the mp 40 it will have a space that the dry side goes into. You just need to measure the thickness of the glass and line the power cord up in the proper location.

My opinion would be to go with the powder brown. Just make sure to QT it or get it from somewhere that does, I think one of out vendors does. Maybe the animal hospital.
