    Dinos or Tap Out

Did a long term blackout as well, almost two full weeks. Yeah lost some corals but got rid of the dinos. What size is your display and what is in there right now? Also, there is an article on reef builders about brining temp up and that seems to help.

Getting Back in the Game...Custom Tank Help Needed

Glasscages you will find reviews on both ends, amazing tanks and great customer support to sloppy silicones tanked and the worst customer service. It seems there is no in between. However they will probably be the best price for a custom tank. If they changed management and got better, I would...

    Need Some Help...

Yes we lost corals but we did a short one, like a week, then when they came back two weeks later we did the longer one. We lost sps, our lps and clams were just fine. Some sps made it and look better than ever

    Need Some Help...

Reef builders ran an article that is saying elevated temps can help with dinos. Very new theory so be cautious. We just went with the 2 week blackout with the algae barn dino kit and that worked for us.

    Hemenway Reefer 170

The green algae looks like cyano which you can get red slime remover for (even though it is green). We are battling aiptasia too and it can be tough. We used F aiptasia and it is better then he other things out there but won’t completely eliminate it. Given you can’t use shrimp with the fire...

    220 gallon tank leaking.

Hey just saw this. We have a 200g and a 80g frag tank if you need us to life raft anything. I have no problem holding it until you get setup and we are in point pleasant so close.

    The 210 tank build

Really hoping he does. We have noticed the smaller ones starting to disapear and not really pop back up but he is not touching the larger ones. We did another round of F Aiptasia over the weekend so hopefully that will help as well.

    The 210 tank build

Yes, some of the pieces held on really well, other almost completely died off but are coming back which is always encouraging. Obviously some new pieces in there that are already starting to grow for us so that is cool too. We have been getting some nice ORA pieces lately from petco and maybe...

Smart to let it come down slowly, that is a big spike for a water change.

Took the top off today to clean the sand bed, hit some aiptasia and clean the power heads. This means we took more pics

Oh man, we used to run this tank, it was such an awesome setup. Looks like you are doing great things with it. Have you thought about getting one of the mesh lids to keep the fish in?

    The 210 tank build

Alright, trying not to let 4 years lapse between posts and trying to keep this up to date. After the dino battle we seem to be in the clear. The much longer blackout seems to have done the trick, we were also dosing the algae barn supplements to help along the way. Some of the corals that...

To clean a sand bed or not.....That is the question

Depends on the tank and on the sand bed. I know people who used to run a deep sand bed and that you don't really want to do a deep clean as it can release some nasty stuff. Our tank now we clean the sand bed pretty regularly because the overflow on our tank isn't really "strong" enough so a...
