Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Backflows don't hum, they typically chatter....more so on startup or first installed, from air trapped in the valve. If it's air chatter you have, you get rid of it by openning the bleeder or opening all, or as many zones as possible, to run the air out by increased water flow.
Now humming...
The BRS 1.1 pumps are quality built pumps that last. They sell the same configuration as 50 ml/minute pumps by changing the gearing, but these just run too fast for the plastic gears, and die too quickly....I'd never buy the 50ml pump. However, if it was me, I'd simply double up the 1.1's...
I first off wish to commend @Mark_C for his progressive thinking and club dedication. If he was running for any Board position, he'd have my vote!
However, I still question the selective following of club rules. I notice multiple "Member's Group Buys" occurring here in this forum that...
You state that the tank is sitting above the dishwasher. Dishwashers have heating elements that most likely make that counter top fairly warm. I'd move the tank so it's not over the dishwasher.
It depends on your nitrate levels....and I simply use the NOPOX instructions as far as dosing:
Measured Level (ppm) ....................Daily Dose ml/100 L (25 gal (US))
NO3 above 10 ---------------------------------------3
NO3 above 2.5, but less than 10 ------------------2
NO3 above 1 but...
Where are you finding 37% vodka? It wouldn't bother me....I'd still use the original amounts and assume it's 40%. If your anal, with vodka at 37%, and vinegar at 10%, you'd what to use the following formula to exactly match the published percentage:
Vodka (37%) - 405 mls
Vinegar (10%)...
First off welcome!
And YES, you are correct in your dilution. The common vinegar found in your local grocery store is 5%. With the stuff you have at 10%, you only need to use half the volume, and make up the difference with RO/DI.
Ed, I sent you a PM for your address. It's been ten years since I was at your house (for my first NJRC meeting.) I think I remember how to get there, but would prefer an address to be sure. Thanks
I just don't see the need with us now having the ability to post pictures directly. But then again, I'm not tech savvy.
As far as storing pictures, get Google Photos....it's free and they are stored in the cloud. Neat features as well, like facial recognition. They also send movies and...
I'm curious why we would want to host pictures here when we can now load them directly. I see the potential of this being abused, loading, as an example, pictures posted on eBay. Why would we want to do that.
James, thanks for the offer for attempting to fix my Tale, but it isn't...
With our old website, we had no option of posting pictures directly.....you had to use a service like Photobucket.
With this new website, we can post pictures directly by using "upload a file." Is this the same as what you're now proposing?
I'm also curious what Reef2Reef does.....my...
I have no qualms with PB changing up their business plan, but what bothers me is that there was no notification. There are small mom and pop businesses relying on this service, and now they are trapped into paying $400. They advertise a monthly fee, which I'm sure the majority would take as...
Photobucket is no longer free for third party hosting! On top of that, any past post, here's the picture you now see:
For me, that's over 2000 pictures. No notice or heads up.
