Phil, I think (and that's a BIG think) it has a standard behemoth overflow (I think I see it). I've got to believe those "extra" bulkheads we see are for a closed loop....but that's a guess as well. If it was me....a cheap SOB....I'd offer 1000 and see what happens. I actually think that...
Just to give you the heads up, MRC's are disgustingly noisy and need very large volume pumps. If you have a remote fish room, the noise shouldn't be an issue. I have both and MRC 1 and MRC 2.....best skimmers I've owned as far as pulling the gook. As far as price, I can't help short of...
WooHoo! I walked into the fish room and the little guy darted into the cave.
I stood there for about 15 minutes wanting a picture, but he didn't come back out. When I get a pic I'll post.
I also filled in his excavation of the Frogspawn from this morning.....lets see if he...
Thanks @kschweer and @njtiger24 aquariums .
I was afraid this would happen. The little bugger hasn't found the cave...or doesn't like it. Instead he has again undermined the Frogspawn....down about 1 1/2 inches....boy these guys are industrious! Not sure what I can do to make him move...
Guys, thanks for the responses.....and Marcus, I didn't do the barnacle one...that was someone else. I did the rock one in post #6....but thanks for the offer.
I've been looking at a Diamond Goby for some time, and finally picked one up this past Sunday. In my visits to a number of LFS's I've seen as they eat sand and spew it out their gill slits, but never saw one that had a cave. One day after putting my guy in the tank, he's mining a good size...
Here's what I've done....using 1 inch PVC and JB Weld Kwik Epoxy. Now I'm scratching my head on how to get this below the sand without poisoning the tank with excess nitrates and phosphates.
Krista, the "plastic" grey conduit I showed above is PVC. However, I've taken another route combining pipe with rock. I'm working on it now and will post pictures when done.
Has anyone put together a goby cave to try to keep your goby from undermining your corals / rocks.
I picked up a Diamond Goby and did not know that they were cave builders. I've only seen them eat sand and spew it out their gill slits. Never saw one that actually built a cave. Well within...
I'm not familiar with Apex, but if it looks like a pH probe, it is NOT submersible. I have a Reefkeeper which has the option of using a similar type temperature probe....I think they call theirs an I-Probe....but instead I use a thermistor which is fully submersible and lasts forever. It...
